Notice of Temporary Closure of Part of Trail at Morrison Dam CA

Date of Notice: August 6, 2026

Part of the Morrison Dam Conservation Area (MDCA) Section of the South Huron Trail will be closed, temporarily, until further notice, from August 10-15, 2026.

There is a possibility the temporary closure will be extended past this date.

The area of closure is denoted, in yellow, on the following map.

The temporary closure is taking place in order to make it possible for enhancements including the rebuilding of wooden boardwalk.

The affected area of temporary closure is from the parking lot south of Morrison Reservoir all the way to an area close to the 3.0 km trail marker.

The parking lot, south of Morrison Reservoir/Lake, will be closed from August 10-11, 2026, until further notice. (The parking lot will be reopened on Wednesday, August 12, 2026).

The north side of the Morrison Dam Conservation Area trail is open and the MacNaughton-Morrison Section of the South Huron Trail, west of MDCA, remains open.
