Job Posting – Watershed Information Technician – Nine-month Contract Position

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) is accepting applications for a position as a Watershed Information Technician. The Watershed Information Technician assists the ABCA with the collecting, analyzing, and managing of water, environmental, and other data. This is a 9-month contract position, with potential for extension.

Duties may include:
- Data management including transforming raw data into standardized datasets.
- Analyzing data and providing technical summary reports or mapping.
- Providing technical support to projects and activities related to field collection of water and other environmental data using digital technologies and equipment.
- Providing technical support to IT related operations.
Qualifications:
- University degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited University, College, or Vocational school with emphasis on information technologies as they relate to environmental science, such as programming, statistical analysis, data management, or geographic information systems.
- Working experience with Microsoft Office 365, databases, scripting, technical troubleshooting, and GIS applications.
- Ability to work outdoors and in adverse environmental conditions.
- A team player with good organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
Remuneration: $30.85 – $38.57
Hours: 35 hours per week
