South Huron Optimist Club donates to Jones Bridge Project

The South Huron Optimist Club has donated $1,000 to the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation towards the community project to build a new pedestrian bridge on the South Huron Trail.

Presenting the donation (from left to right in photo) are Rachel Skillen, President of the South Huron Optimist Club; and Nicole Glavin, a member of the South Huron Optimist Club. Accepting the donation, on behalf of the Conservation Foundation and the Pedestrian Bridge Community Working Group, is Brian Horner, General Manager and Secretary-Treasurer of Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA).

“Our mandate is to support youth and families in our community,” said Rachel Skillen, President of the South Huron Optimist Club. “We are so happy to support this project as it will increase safety and promote use of the trail for families, as well as daycare and school programs.”
